Lieutenant Kiran Shekhawat holds a special place in the history of the Indian Navy as the first woman officer who made the ultimate sacrifice while serving the nation. Born on May 1, 1988, in a naval family from Rajasthan, Kiran followed her passion and commitment to serve India by joining the Indian Naval Academy at Ezhimala in 2010.
