Lt Gen Pushpendra Singh Appointed as Next Vice Chief of Army Staff

The Indian Army is set to welcome Lt Gen Pushpendra Singh as the new Vice Chief of Army Staff (VCOAS) from August 1, 2025. He will succeed Lt Gen NS Raja Subramani, who took over the post last year.

An alumnus of the Indian Military Academy, Lt Gen Pushpendra Singh was commissioned into the elite 4 Para (Special Forces) back in December 1987. Known for his extensive operational experience and leadership, he brings expertise from challenging assignments across his long and distinguished service with the Indian Army.

This appointment is part of a wider round of high-level transitions in the Indian armed forces. Lt Gen Pushpendra Singh’s leadership is expected to further strengthen the operational preparedness and modernization efforts of the Indian Army.
