Built by: Hindustan Shipyard Limited (HSL), Visakhapatnam
Significance: India’s first indigenously built deep-sea submarine rescue ship.

Displacement: ~10,500 tonnes
Length: ~120 meters
Endurance: ~60 days at sea
Propulsion: Dynamic Positioning (DP-II), thrusters for precise movement
Helicopter Deck: Night Vision capable.


🎯 Main Roles

Submarine Rescue: Acts as a mother ship for Deep Submergence Rescue Vehicles.

Deep-Sea Diving: Supports saturation diving up to ~300 meters.

Search & Recovery: ROVs + side-scan sonar + subsea crane
