Back to back Missile tests done by India post Operation Sindoor
India Flexes Missile Muscle: Three Major Systems Tested in 24 Hours
In a massive boost to national defence and strategic deterrence, India successfully test-fired three cutting-edge missile systems within just 24 hours this week. The tests included the nuclear-capable Prithvi-II and Agni-I short-range ballistic missiles from Odisha, as well as the advanced Akash Prime surface-to-air missile in high-altitude Ladakh.
Key Highlights:
- Prithvi-II, known for its pinpoint accuracy, can strike targets at 350 km and is a key part of India’s nuclear arsenal.
- Agni-I, with a 700 km range, is another key deterrent in India’s ballistic missile layer, showcasing solid-fuel technology and mission reliability.
- Akash Prime, tested at 4,500 metres in Ladakh, is an upgraded air defence system capable of neutralising aerial threats at 30-35 km range and up to 20 km altitude. Ruggedised for Himalayan use, it aced its tests with direct hits, proving its readiness for real-world operations.
These back-to-back tests, part of the aftermath of Operation Sindoor, send a clear message about India’s preparedness and technological progress, especially to neighbours like Pakistan and China. With indigenous development by DRDO, these strategic systems ensure that India’s defence forces remain well-equipped for every challenge, at any altitude or environment.
Experts see this latest round of successful tests as not just a validation of technology but also a strong statement of strategic intent.
